insurence is awesome. or not.

How incredibly frustrating!

I mean, I am glad to have insurence and all, but what freakin good does it do?

I started to see a nutritionist for my endometriosis... is that covered? no.

I went and got my teeth cleaned two weeks ago, but does my dental insurence send me a check like they should? no.

I just bought car insurence from progressive and all I asked them to do was to fax me the paperwork, but could they do that? Apparently too difficult.

I also got my car inspected today (2 months past due, thanks Graham) and although it passed... my breaks didn't. Phenomenal. So $140 for the inspection, and I will need to buy new breaks over the next few months to the tune of about $300.

I swear, it is no wonder that I cannot move out of this house, life continues to suck the money right out of my wallet and into things I would seriously rather not spend my money on!!!

Okay, that is a lie... I really do want to go see the nutritionist and I am excited about how things will turn out with him. I am hoping that he can help me. At this point, I honestly could care less WHAT he does and suggests as long as it helps.

Bleh... today has been uber frustrating between calling insurence companies and the portal at school moving at a turtle's pace.

On the up side of things... China is looking more promising... the dates are Sept 26th to Oct 28th... plus a week for the science nerds like me. As I have been so let down with Autralia, I am trynig to not get my hopes up about it... plus, ya know, it makes me insanely nervous to go overseas for 5 weeks! So much can happen! I dont know, we shall see.

Tonight is also my last grad class... at least for this semester. School starts back up again in two or three weeks for the first summer session. It never ends. :P

$140 for inspection seems high. Was that because it was past due, or something else? I think it should cost about $80 in PA (including emissions inspection and tax).

My grandparents can remember a time when it was possible for a blue collar worker to support a family of four on a single modest wage. These days, it seems like I know more and more dual income families barely making ends meet, often due to large amounts of student loans.

Yeah yeah insurance. insurence. same diff.

It was $140 because he took the liberty of changing my oil and rotating and balancing my tires. Without me asking.

But I guess overall I cannot complain - my car did pass inspection despite the breaks not passing. Eek!

That seems dishonest on the inspector's part. Even if your car did need an oil change and tire adjustment, he should have asked you first.
