I realize that I have not really written in a long time... and a lot has happened in the month or so that I havent written... here is the major list:- went to florida for two weeks with Ethan
- went to camp for a week
- interviewed/negotiated/accepted a teaching job
- spend the afternoon in the ER
That list is more or less in order, with 2 and 3 sort of running at the same time. the ER was only today. So I guess we should start with number 1...
Florida was really awesome. It was so nice to actually relax for two weeks. I got tan... which means that I am now the same color that most people are supposed to be, instead of dayglo white. That is sort of nice, and I am hoping that it helps with my seasonal winter depression... im sure that will be coming on soon. But we had a good time together and did not kill each other. We spent 2 days in Orlando with Aunt Terry, Uncle George, and cuz Jake... and lots of spiders and scorpions, which Jake collects. We then drove to Ft. Myers and spent the rest of our time there with Uncle Jim, Nan, Bud, and Aunt JoAnn. Tim also stopped down for a short visit. We did not do anything particularly exciting but watch movies and read and lay on the beach... overall a very relaxing time.
We got back from Florida and I instantly got stressed out (see #3). I had applied to Renaissance Academy before I left for Florida and they said that they were interviewing so I would probably not hear from them. I got back, and I had heard from them and they wanted to interview me on Monday... after I worked 2 doubles on Sat and Sun. Fun-ness. Of course I immediately freaked... but I interviewed Monday... and a bunch of stuff happened... and the first job they offered me was full time for 36k plus benefits. but I would teach 1 chem, 2 bios, and 1 geometry. methinks NOT. Thats much for any teacher, let alone a first year. So... several negotiations later... I accepted a job with 1 chem, 2 bios, and 2 hours of tutoring a day, for full time, benefits, but only 30k. Kinda sucks, but I think it will be a really good opportunity for me. However, they have been stressing me out because I sitll havent signed any contracts. and I am supposed to go in for training on Monday. sigh. then the kids start next monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I havent quit the job at the hospital yet. le sigh. sucks.
So I went to camp for a week with Steph as co-chaplains, which was so fun and awesome. It was wonderful to see our campers learn and grow. Lightbulbs were definitely turning on... which was not only a reassurance that I am a good teacher, but that God totally has my back. It was so wonderful to be at camp and to not worry about as much as I usually worry about... just to know that God doesnt give me anything I cant handle and that as long as I relax and remember that He is on my side, that I will be okay. Camp was just overall really great and Steph and I had fun... we are going to try to go back next summer.
I spent most of today in the ER... I will spare you the grisely details... lets leave it as "Female Issues" x gajillion. I feel better now, but I have never felt that horrible in my entire duration as a woman. I am glad I knew God has my back, because I was crying out for Him many many times.
And now its now... its 6:44pm. my arm hurts from where they injected me with some kind of amazing drug.... but it was totally worth it, just like the nurse said. I also got a ton of funny looks today bc I am wearing my Music Man t shirt and periwinkle fleece pj pants with black sparkly flip flops... after we left the ER, I had to go over to Occupational Health and get a ppd (for tb) read... then into eckard to get my rx filled.... Ethan said I gave the lady at the counter a look of pure hatred and evil when she told me it was going to take 45 mins to fill. Turns out it took about 5 after that. I am telling you, my face makes faces of its own accord. Cant help it one bit.
I think thats a sufficient update for now... Oh... and I might move to Orlando.
